The Chugai Mining Group consists of Chugai Mining and its two subsidiaries. The Group is developing four businesses as its mainstay operations: a renewable-energy business (which commenced in earnest in April 2012), a precious-metal business (which is our core business), a real-estate business, and a machinery business.

With our new Renewable Energy Business Division, we are aiming to establish renewable energy that is geared to the future. This will include the development of non-polluting energy geared towards a resource-circulating society, using magnesium (of which there are plentiful deposits) as an energy source; and the development of geothermal energy, which is in plentiful supply in Japan.

With stores in every major city in Japan, our Precious Metal Business Division is engaged in both the refined-metal business and the jewelry business. The former encompasses an entire recycling process, which involves purchasing precious metals such as gold and platinum as raw materials, and then refining them, working them, and selling the finished products. The latter involves the sale of diamonds and jewelry.

The monthly production capacity for our Tokyo factory is 1 ton of gold and 20 kg of platinum. The factory also produces palladium and possesses equipment for gold-plating.

The Real Estate Business Division is principally engaged in sales, brokering, leasing, and management of real estate, such as condominiums, houses, land, business properties, and investment properties, as well as in planning and development?predominantly in urban areas. It is also engaged in joint development with the Research Division, and in research and development work on high-added-value building materials, such as solar panels.

The Machinery Division is engaged in sales of various types of machine tools, including machining centers and NC lathes, the cornerstones of the machinery industry; various types of sheet-metal machinery, including NC turret punch presses and laser machines; and various types of presses, capable of work ranging from precision molding to large-scale molding. The division is managed nationwide by Intex Co., Ltd., which is a consolidated subsidiary of the Chugai Mining Group and which operates offices in cities throughout Japan.

Having built up its technology, expertise, and other business resources over the course of many years, the Chugai Mining Group is now actively seeking to develop its businesses in order to make the best use of these resources in the global market as well as the Japanese market.
